At Freestyle TS our clients’ confidence and data safety are always at the heart of what we do. That’s why we are proud to announce that as of September, Bookers and Bolton Solicitors have successfully obtained the Cyber Essentials certification from the UK government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed scheme that defines a baseline set of technical controls to protect organisations against many common cyber threats. It addresses:
- Firewalls and internet gateways
- Secure configurations of devices and software
- Access control (ensuring only authorised persons have access to systems)
- Malware protection
- Patch/update management
By implementing these, an organisation can significantly reduce its vulnerability to cyber attacks and demonstrate commitment to cybersecurity best practices.
Why this matters for our clients, partners & us
1. Enhanced Security & Reduced Risk
With these controls in place, Bookers and Bolton are better protected against threats such as phishing, malware, and unauthorised access. It means fewer disruptions and stronger protection of sensitive data.
2. Compliance & Trust
Many contracts – especially with government, regulated sectors or data-sensitive clients – now require or prefer organisations to hold Cyber Essentials certification. Having this certification places Bookers and Bolton in a stronger position to meet those requirements. It also signals that we take your security seriously.
3. Transparency and Accountability
Obtaining this certification required evidence, assessment, and in some cases external verification. It means Freestyle TS looked at the Bookers and Bolton practices, identified gaps, fixed them, and committed to renew and maintain this standard. Cyber security is not a “once and done” exercise but a continuous endeavour.
What happens next
Achieving Cyber Essentials is a milestone, but it’s only one step in our ongoing commitment:
- Bookers and Bolton will continue to monitor, improve and adapt their systems and processes as new threats emerge.
- Renew certification annually to stay current.
- Further strengthen their data protection, as required by law and regulation.
- Offer peace of mind: you can be confident of their cybersecurity standards when choosing them for your legal needs.
Thank You
We extend our gratitude to the Bookers and Bolton team and their staff for embracing best practices in cyber awareness. Finally, thank you to our internal Security Team at Freestyle TS for assisting and guiding Bookers & Bolton Solicitors – their security remains our priority.
